F3W ULTRASONIC FLOW METERS

Monitor liquid flow without modifying a pipe

Introduction

The F3W is a small compact clamp-on ultrasonic flowmeter, based on the Time Comb Technology. F3W is very easy to install: clamp it on the pipe, connect it to power and set pipe diameter. The clamp-on design allows the installation in running systems without opening the pipe, providing minimum downtime and maximum availability.

Principles of Operation
Two sensors are placed on the outside of the pipe. Each sensor transmits ultrasonic pulses through the pipe and then transmits the fluid to the other. The speed of the liquid flowing through the pipe accelerates or decelerates the pulse. The difference between the transit times of the two pulses is used to calculate the flow rate. Using the transition time can make the flowmeter not be affected by pressure or temperature changes.
